The proposal is to extend and combine four existing buildings located to the west of Slingsby Place, Covent Garden. Along with
Mercer St and the
Courtyard Building, the project forms part of the major
St Martin’s Courtyard development.
We are converting the properties into a single mixed-use scheme; basement to first floor will be retail and restaurant units, while the second to sixth floor will be exclusively for office use. We will be constructing an additional sixth floor by extending the existing Mansard roofs, which will have the effect of unifying the buildings eavesline. We will also install Green Roofs and build a seventh floor plant room.
Individual entrances and exits to existing buildings will be removed and we are creating an office entrance and glazed circulation core, which will be accessed from the new courtyard space. The office entrance will be a structural glazed system sitting between massive London stock brick walls and the core will feature a glass lift in a glazed enclosure, a feature designed to place emphasis upon movement and bring a sense of dynamism to the new scheme.
The project has received planning permission and is now under construction.
