Elan House
Fetter Lane, London EC4

Smith Caradoc-Hodgkins Architects were commissioned to design a new glass and stone reception area for this six storey office building in central London.

The existing 1960s building was being renovated and extended.  We were asked to advise on façade treatments, along with a new entrance area.  A dark grey treatment was chosen to visually recess the existing concrete panels of the façade.  To bring the focus of the building to the entrance, a simple but striking entrance was proposed. The glazing is a frameless silicone jointed structural double glazed system.  Strongly coloured polished plasterwalls, bespoke joinery and a curved first floor balcony complete the composition.
