Courtyard Building, Covent Garden, London

Our proposal forms part of the St Martin's Courtyard development, a major project for the urban regeneration of a two-acre site on the Western edge of London’s Covent Garden. The existing island site comprises a typical mixture of redundant and underused buildings including a former NCP car park. We have received planning permission to transform this space into a new public area around which will be constructed a truly mixed use- retail, leisure, office and residential development.

The Courtyard building will be the focal point of the new space: A highly articulated glazed façade, composed of transparent, opaque and stacked glass will form a definitive feature, terminating the new vista from Long Acre. This dramatic glazing will be set against a simple brick and stone backdrop which will reveal retail and restaurant spaces. Set above these, on the third storey, there will be studio style office space. A dramatically cantilevering canopy will complete the composition.
The project is now under construction. Click here to watch a video walkthrough of the St Martin's Courtyard development.
